To make work, it is inevitable that we collect user and engagement data.

What sets us apart from other social media platforms, is that we a) store as little data as possible, without compromising on functionality. And b) we don’t have a data-driven advertisement business model. Consequently, there are no ads and we do not monetize personal data. Period.

We sustain ourselves by distributing m² of nature and facilitating donations. We simply do not need personal data for anything other than servicing our community with content and insights. To make this a hard promise, we will make each verified member of EarthToday a co-owner based on their engagement, from day one. This way each member ‘owns’ its own dataset. And we all share responsibility and Ownership.
